all writing is autobiography

In "all writing is autobiography" Donald M. Murray talks about how all writing by any author is still somewhat biased or opinionated, even if it does not seem like it.  The words authors choose to use, choose not to use, or the way they word things can be influenced by the author's position on the topic, even if the material being written is for an objective encyclopedia writing like Wikipedia. Murray states that we write autobiographical with out even knowing about it, and by reading this article we now know what to look for and how to try and word our objective writings to keep from making an autobiography on Wikipedia.

  1. I agree that after reading this passage by Murray it gave me a new perspective on how to write. When writing we will now be able to look more carefully into our constructs and from there make them less autobiographical. Even though we will not be able to eliminate it completely at least now we are aware of it and will be on a sharper look out for our on biased opinions when writing on Wikipedia.

  2. Murray definitely hit the point home. I'll be a lot more conscious about my writing now that I've read the passage.

  3. I agree completely I think there is really only one way to interpret Murray's piece, but I think you did a good job of describing what his message was. In my interpretation I did not mention how writing can be unconsciously autobiographical and I like how you hinted at that. Good Job!
